Teaching & Public Lectures

Deanna Petherbridge held teaching and research posts at leading art and architecture institutions in the UK and internationally. She taught at the Architectural Association, the University of Reading, Middlesex Polytechnic, and was Professor of Drawing at the Royal College of Art, where she founded the Centre for Drawing Research. She later held professorial and emeritus positions at the University of the West of England and the University of Lincoln.

Alongside her academic roles, Petherbridge delivered lectures, conference papers, and extended public lecture series at major institutions including Tate, the National Gallery, and the BBC, and undertook international lecture tours in Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Americas.

Curated Exhibitions

Deanna Petherbridge curated and co-curated a number of significant exhibitions exploring drawing, anatomy, medicine, and artistic process. Her curatorial work was characterised by a trans-historical approach, bringing contemporary practice into dialogue with historical material, and was presented at major museums and institutions in the UK and internationally.
